About The Event

In conjunction with the Richmond Shakespeare Festival’s performances of Taming of the Shrew, the Dining with Shakespeare guided tour explores what dining was like in Elizabethan England. What are medlars, metheglin, and lamb’s wool? Join Tour Guide Tracy Weldon for a look at sources of ingredients, culinary customs, and table manners during Shakespeare’s lifetime. A few quotes from Taming of the Shrew and other plays will be referenced during the tour through our seasonal displays in the Great Hall, Dining Parlor, and Tudor Kitchen. Take home period recipes and sweet treat!

Fee: $12 per person or free for Agecroft Hall Annual Pass holders. Pass Holders must contact the Manager of Tour Services at 804-353-4241 x 119 to reserve tour tickets.
