Oyez, Oyez! This court will virtually come to order.  In this online event, we will be taking a look at the legal system in Early Modern England. We will look at the history of how the legal system developed.  Also, we’ll look at the different types of courts, what types of crimes they would have tried, and what the possible punishments were.  We will take a look at some of the more famous trials of the time.  Finally, we’ll take a look at some crimes local to Agecroft, and see how the courts dealt with them.  Join us for this virtual event as we study a legal system of the past and think about how it affects the world of law today.
