When is it Treason?
In Thomas Jefferson's early American democracy, when his former Vice President plans to seize parts of Spanish America and make it his own empire, will Chief Justice John Marshall be able to give him his right to a fair trial or will he be presumed guilty of Treason until proven innocent?
300 years earlier in Shakespeare's England, a group of religiously oppressed English subjects plotted to overthrow the monarch with gunpowder laid under the House of Parliament. Will these citizens be given the protection of the Magna Carta or will they be denounced as traitors to the crown? Does treason have any relevance to our lives today?
