At Agecroft Hall, the Great Parlor recreates a space where the Dauntesey family would have entertained their close friends. Both men and women of the gentry class would often learn how to play musical instruments. We have several instruments from the 17th century that might have been played at Agecroft when it was in England.
Agecroft Hall was lucky to partner with Forgotten Clefs, a Renaissance music group that research and play the same types of instruments that we have in our collection. We created a series of videos about music and musical instruments. Here is one that features our table organ. We'll be posting a few other music videos in other parts of this event, so stay tuned!
