I want to show you some pictures from a "hidden" garden at Agecroft. This is our Shakespeare garden, which contains flowers and herbs that are referenced in the works of William Shakespeare. I'm sure you all have heard of Shakespeare- he was a playwright and poet who produced many plays that we still study and watch today. Here at Agecroft Hall, we host a lot of programs that relate to the life and works of Shakespeare.
The Shakespeare garden is located near the back lawn at Agecroft. It has a fountain, and there are benches where you can sit and enjoy the surroundings.
If you wander through the garden, you will notice signs with quotes from Shakespeare's plays, and the plant that he references (in season of course) are planted around it. Take a look at some of these quotes, and think about what they tell us about how plants were used in Shakespeare's time.
