I hop you've had fun identifying herbs today. In the gardens at Agecroft, you will herbs everywhere! One of our gardens is called the Knot Garden. It had several varieties of herbs, and they are planted in a pattern. Often these gardens would be planted closer to the house so you could look down on them from a second story window:
As you wander the gardens, you will probably come across many rosemary bushes. We use rosemary quite a bit today in cooking. In Tudor times, the also believed it would help you concentrate and remember things. So a good herb to have if you are studying for a quiz!
We also have some dill. Dill is a great flavor, especially if you want to pickle something:
