Martaban Jars: Pottery in the Great Hall

Many of the items in the collection at Agecroft Hall are from England. But England was becoming increasingly connected with the wider world during the Early Modern Period, and several objects in the collection reflect that. Even as a gentry family located in rural Northern England, the Daunteseys would have been able to purchase trade goods to use and display in their home.

In these two videos, Manager of Tour Services Katie Reynolds introduces us to the history of the three Martaban Jars. These jars are on display in the Great Hall at Agecroft.
