The Importance of Community Support
This historic place whose English roots lie in the Tudor era and whose story spans five centuries is a place of joy, wonder, relaxation, contemplation, and education.
Agecroft is:
A gathering place for the community — a place that offers numerous free events throughout the year from Shakespeare's Birthday to Free Mother's Day in the Gardens to free outdoor concerts by the Richmond Concert Band, and so much more.
An educational space that welcomes numerous groups of school children throughout the year with programs including Flora & Fauna, Voyage to Virginia, Life on the Manor, and Shakespeare at Agecroft, not to mention hosts area seniors participating in lifelong learning institutes and other daily visitors.
A participant in the incredible Museums for All initiative which offers individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) the opportunity to experience our museum and gardens at no cost.
At the center of the Agecroft estate is an historic structure in need of careful and ongoing preservation work and a collection with its own conservation needs.
How to Support Agecroft
Proceeds from admission tickets, events, and gift shop sales help support this work and our ongoing efforts to offer new research, new programs, and new opportunities to our community.
But there is always more work to be done and funds to raise to help ensure that Agecroft remains a cultural gem for centuries more.
One great way to support Agecroft is through annual Memberships.
Another is through a tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit (legal name: Agecroft Association).
One of the simplest ways to provide Agecroft with support is to add an extra, but purely optional, donation to your ticket or membership purchase at checkout.
