Yuletides at Agecroft:

A Virtual Christmas Open House

Welcome to Yuletides! Sadly, this year we are not able to hold our traditional holiday event in person.  To keep the holiday spirit going, we have put together a virtual event for you and your family to enjoy from the comfort of your home!

Agecroft Hall has seen many holiday seasons throughout its history, both in England and in Virginia.  The Yuletides event recreates seasonal activities from many points of Agecroft’s history.  Join Master and Mistress Dauntesey as they prepare for a 17th-century Christmas.  We’ll also see how some beloved Christmas traditions began during the Victorian era, and Charles Dickens will be here to read from his classic A Christmas Carol.  You can sing along with some carols, and watch a puppet show of a famous Christmas poem.  Moving into the 20th century, we’ll show you how British and American soldiers celebrated Christmas on the Front.  And it wouldn’t be Yuletides without a visit from Father Christmas!

We’ll also be posting Christmas crafts and recipes that you can try at home.  For those of you who are nostalgic, we’ll have some pictures of Yuletides past. Follow along by clicking the links below for activities. Click here for our video and Facebook feeds.

Thank you to everyone for your support of Agecroft Hall and Gardens during these difficult times.

We hope that all of you have a safe and happy holiday season!
