In Tudor England, property and titles were typically passed down to male heirs. What then, you may ask, happened when Sir Robert Langley, Lord of Agecroft Hall, had only daughters?
This guided tour, held in honor of Women’s History Month, explores the early history of Agecroft Hall with a special focus on Robert’s daughter Anne Langley, marriage traditions among England's landed gentry, and the roles and rights of Tudor middle-class women.
This tour by guide Matt Rowlett takes place on both floors of the museum. Please note that we do not have an elevator to access the second floor.
$12.00 per person. 20% discount for museum members.
