Christmas during the 1920's looked a lot like Christmas today. The late 19th century brought electricity, telephones, radio and refrigeration into Amerian homes. Times were prosperous after WWI, and family celebrations were festive and full. Communities reached out to neighbors and veterans with packages, cards and food gifts. Christmas carols like Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland and Let It Snow, Let It Snow were popular. Christmas feasts included goose and turkey, plum pudding, seafood cocktail, pineapple upside down cake and complex Jell-O mold desserts and salads. Families gathered at the piano or gramophone for Christmas music.
