Stitches in Time: Kids Sewing Workshop

Get ready for sew much fun at Agecroft! In this program, children will learn about the history and breadth of sewing at Agecroft Hall and other similar country houses. Educational intern Kate will lead the exploration of historical hand sewing. We will tour Agecroft and identify and discuss sewn items within our collection. We will also learn how people through the centuries have bought or obtained their clothes. Following the tour and brief discussion, children will learn the basics of hand sewing as they would have been completed at Agecroft in the sixteenth century. Children will bring home their sewing work.

This session is for ages 8-12; there is a morning session is for ages 5-7.
